We were disheartened to have to postpone our Time For Change event this past Sunday, but we do plan to reschedule in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone who came together this weekend to still support our amazing vendors and non-profit partners. Many asked how they could learn more about the vendors so find them below. Patty’s Cheesecakes: Pat Upchurch, the founder and head baker behind Patty’s Cheesecakes learned to cook from her dad, who was a chef, and her love and passion for cooking started at his side on a small step later. Pat’s grandmother always made the best cheesecakes so when she decided to stop making them, she gave Pat her recipe and mixer to continue the tradition. Mama Boogie’s Small Batch Cakery is a named in honor of owner Amber’s grandmother, Boogie. Momma Boogie’s is inspired by southern sweets, forgotten traditions, and the love of family. She bakes in honor of her grandmother, a classy, fearless woman, and shares all the memorable moments through her all-natural, scratch-made pound cakes, cookies and cobblers, giving nourishment to the soul and creating a positive, connective experience with each customer. SimplyCookingWithDonna began years ago when owner Donna was the head of the culinary team for her local church. She then created SimplyCookingWithDonna and now has her own seasoning, YouTube cooking show, and her own cookbook called Simply Cooking with Donna. SheVotes: a new collaborative initiative by three local women-owned businesses: jewelry maker Collections by Joya, clothing brand 2Lu City, and Golden Gems who united in a non-partisan movement to amplify women’s voices at the polls. She Votes will include fun apparel, accessories and jewelry, but also provide resources and education for women to “sign up, show up, and speak up” in both local and national elections.
