For our next #BuildingCityFoundrySTL, we talked with Brian A Murphy, owner of BAM Contracting LLC. Brian’s company is a St. Louis-based business that launched over 10 years ago. Brian took time out of his busy schedule to stop by City Foundry STL and tell us a little bit more about his work on the project.

Tell us a little bit about your business. BAM is a full service carpentry company. We do both commercial, institutional, and residential work. We think we’re as good as it gets here in St. Louis! With City Foundry STL, BAM has been focusing on drywall at City Foundry STL.

What did you like about working on this project? Being involved with the unique and high-profile City Foundry STL reminds me of my days working as director of  Community Development for the City of St. Louis.

What does it mean to you to restore and preserve some of the unique elements of the former property? If you’re going to be a city with identity and character, you have to preserve the historic features that you can. I love the reuse concept here with City Foundry STL. I love using urban development to keep the architectural character of St. Louis. This is one of the cool things about St. Louis, we’ve got a lot of brick!
