On July 16, Steve Smith, principal owner of City Foundry STL, executed a master construction agreement with S. M. Wilson for Phase 1 of the project. The agreement includes current and future contracts, which will consist of the construction and renovation of six buildings, improvements to the 10-acre site, as well as construction of over 60 tenant spaces. The agreement is expected to exceed $100 million when all packages are released.
The Alamo Drafthouse, which offers a unique mix of film, food, and drink, will be located at the upcoming City Foundry STL development in Midtown. "You'll be able to go to the movies and order a steak, a glass of wine, you can have ice cream, a salad, whatever, in the theater itself," said Steve Smith, the CEO of Lawrence Group. the developer of the site.
“Every food stall [will have] a St. Louis connection," Smith says. "The overarching idea is to build a community of local chefs doing out-of-the-box concepts within their areas of expertise.”
